Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

This is an exciting role where you work autonomously with the support of the Multi-disciplinary team managing your own case load of clients in the community using a Strengths based model. You would also be involved in doing Initial assessments for referrals sent to the CMHT.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

We are a Multi-disciplinary team consisting of very experienced Consultants, Registrars, Psychologists, Mental health Nurses, Occupational therapists, Social Workers and Administrators. We are a very supportive team and you will always feel that you have support.

We enjoy celebrating our successes and milestones and doing the 5 minute quiz at lunch-time. We are based in the centre of Porirua and have the best views of Porirua and the surrounding district that you will find from the 8th floor.

Moū – About you

You will be a mental health nurse preferably with some experience though we will support you to learn.

You will have good time management skills so you can manage your caseload and be able to prioritise your work and dealing with acute situations. You will have assessment and risk management skills and the willingness to continue to learn new skills. You will be flexible as no day in mental health is the same.

You will enjoy working in a team and supporting others but also able to work independently and follow process.

You will enjoy having a laugh and remain positive when faced with adversity.
