Registered Nurse - Christchurch

Make a difference in the lives of people who struggle with addictions
• Hours are negotiable between 20 – 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday (no weekends!)
• Based in Addington, Christchurch

Our client is a national non-profit organisation, which has a long history of providing safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. These services are known and recognised for being person-centred, caring, transformative and responsive.

As the sole Registered Nurse, reporting to the Quality Lead, you will be responsible for working with clients who have issues related to substance addiction and are wanting to make a positive change in their lives. This is in a residential setting, as clients complete an eight-week programme.

Key responsibilities include medication administration and management, infection control, health education, managing referrals to external agencies, and connecting people with appropriate health services in the community.

You will be working as part of a talented and supportive multidisciplinary team, which is committed to providing the highest level of care and helping their clients to transform their lives.

Person Profile:

• Strong clinical knowledge and nursing experience, ideally within an addictions or mental health setting
• A current practicing certificate
• A passion for providing and delivering a high level of customer service
• The ability to problem solve, use initiative and display sound judgement
• Very highly developed written and oral communication skills
• Strong relationship building capabilities, both internally and externally to the organisation
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• A full New Zealand drivers licence

As the service operates 24/7, there is the requirement for the Registered Nurse to be part of the on-call roster, currently one in every six to eight weeks, for which you will receive an additional $200 allowance.

As our client is part of the Health and Disability sector in New Zealand, all applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and be able to provide a vaccine pass as evidence.
