About the role - About you
An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a talented Registered Nurse working for the North Community Mental Health team. You will need experience working with patients with serious mental illness in a community or inpatient setting. Within this position you will be responsible for case managing up to 30 cases, assessing, maintaining and managing clinical risk and crisis work.
You will have previously demonstrated a commitment to best practice standards and your model of practice will be inclusive of the seven Real Skills of Let's get real (www.tepou.co.nz). You will also hold a strong sense of 'self', a positive 'can do' attitude and a commitment to working cohesively in a large and dynamic multidisciplinary team.

To be successful in this role you will have relevant community and / or recent acute inpatient experience and the ability to meet the demands of a busy workload to a high standard.
In this role there is the requirement to cover a rotational weekend roster, over an 18-week period this amounts to six weeks working Monday to Sunday and 12 weeks Monday to Friday.
To be eligible to apply you must be registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and have a current and valid APC, a scope that allows you practice in mental health and clean driver licence.
About the team
North Community Mental Health team provide assessment, support and treatment for people experiencing moderate to severe mental illness. The geographic area serviced by the Team includes Mosgiel, Middlemarch, Palmerston and Dunedin city from the Octagon northwards.
