About the role
As part of this dedicated team you'll have your own case load of clients on Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) meaning your days will be busy and varied. OST Case Management will be the primary workload of this role. There will also be opportunities to support mental health liaison with the teams and to support client pathways from mental health forwards through our service and provide some 1-1 assessment and counselling for clients with other substance use problems. You'll have regular contact with other DHB Health Services, and NGO's, so you must be an excellent communicator who is adept at interacting with your clients, colleagues and external organisations, always striving to ensure the best results, with a holistic wrap around approach.
You will bring to this role a solid understanding of addiction issues and experience in working with clients with co-existing-problems (CEP) and you'll be able to demonstrate strength in screening, assessment, brief intervention, and clear decision making skills. Desirable skills and experience relate to mental health and physical health assessment. Whilst experience in this setting is desirable, consideration will be given to Nurses who have an interest in the area of specialist addictions and we would support post graduate study.

You will be a Registered Nurse with a current APC that allows you to practice in Mental Health. It is desirable that you hold relevant post graduate qualifications.
