- Post registration in Mental Health

What is Intensive Recovery Sector?
The Intensive Recovery Sector (IRS) is one of the service groupings within the wider Mental Health Addictions and Intellectual Disability Services. IRS comprises of approximately 240 staff from a variety of clinical and administrative backgrounds. The service is led in partnership by the Operations Manager and Clinical Leader. As the name suggests the IRS encompasses services dedicated to responding and supporting those people and their whanau who may require urgent and acute responses and care. These services may be provided in a community setting or in hospital depending on the needs of the person.
The different services you could work in:
Rostered and Rotating - Te Whare O Matairangi is a 24 hour mental health assessment and treatment acute inpatient service for adults aged from 18 years. The service is located at the Wellington Regional Hospital
Rostered and Rotating - Te Whare Ahuru is a 24 hour mental health assessment and treatment acute inpatient service for adults aged from 18 years. The service is located at Hutt Valley Hospital.
Consult Liaison Psychiatry Service
Monday to Friday business hours - The consultation liaison psychiatry service primarily supports patients who have been admitted for their medical needs to the general hospital who may also require treatment or support for their mental health needs. There is a team at the Hutt Valley and Wellington Regional Hospitals.
Team for Assertive Community Treatment (TACT)
Monday to Friday business hours - The TACT service is for people with persistent, long-term mental health and/or substance dependency problems.
The team is based at the Wellington Regional Hospital
Rostered and Rotating - The Crisis Resolution Service is a community mobile team that focuses on providing services to those who are have urgent mental health needs. CRS are a busy team with bases in Wellington, Kenepuru and Lower Hutt, providing assessment and treatment options for persons of all ages who require a crisis intervention, home based treatment, giving DAO advice re the Mental Health Act along with a variety of other associated duties. CRS is frontline service and work closely with Emergency Departments, Police, Social Services, GP’s and tertiary education providers.
The teams are Multi-Disciplinary comprising of Medical Officers, Registered Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists
