Our Intensive Mental Health Service provides assessment, care, and treatment to people experiencing acute mental illness across an acute inpatient facility and a step-down facility. We have a dynamic forward-looking team that rise to the challenges in their day-to-day work.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about and committed to, mental health nursing. A mature, confident and empathetic outlook is essential for the role.

We're looking for Mental Health Nurses who display the following:

  • A current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, with evidence of meeting continuing competence requirements
  • Level 2 or 3 portfolio as assessed via an approved Nursing Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP)
  • Step 3-5 (as per the NZNO/DHBs Nursing and Midwifery Multi-Employer Collective Agreement)

A commitment to teamwork with an ability to participate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team within mental health

A level of physical fitness is required for this position and please do contact the unit for further advice on requirements for the position. We are looking for high standards of care for our clients and hope to modernise our service through the care we provide.
