About the service:

The mental health and addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking a huge programme of change to deliver better outcomes to tāngata whai ora and whānau in our region. As a registered nurse with the staff bureau, we offer an exciting, changing work environment and a comprehensive orientation. You will be supported in the development of your portfolio and ongoing professional development.

About the role:

You will have the ability to work in a diverse range of clinical settings within our inpatient services as well as across the morning, afternoon and night shifts and part shifts.

Required skills & experience:

Preference will be given to RNs who have worked in acute mental health services recently. A minimum of two years post registration experience in mental health nursing is required as is established skills in comprehensive mental health and risk assessment. You must have a current full drivers licence.

In addition to the above, we are looking for someone who has:

· skills in effective documentation of clinical assessments and interventions

· the ability to effectively manage workload and prioritise urgent situations

· the ability to effectively manage a caseload

· the ability to work effectively with a service user and their family

· excellent communication skills

· the ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team environment.

You must have NZ residency and a current practising certificate with a scope of practise that allows you to work in mental health services.
