Te mahi tūranga - About the role

The Social Worker, will apply their social work practice to work with Whanau Whaiora to achieve their desired wellbeing outcomes. You will have opportunity to use your skills within a multidisciplinary team approach and work across a diverse caseload. You will play a vital role and be responsible for empowering and supporting Whanau Whaiora to equip them with the resources to be support better choices and decision making.

Ngā pūkenga, ngā tohu ōu - What you will need

  • Relevant Applied Social Worker qualification and/ or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build rapport with Whanau Whaiora and provide encouragement
  • Ability to work across the lifespan.
  • Understanding of Te Reo me ona Tikanga
  • Ability to work with each individual Whanau Whaiora and provide appropriate support
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations, maintaining composure and to identify and mitigate risk
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem solving abilities
  • Have the ability to work cohesively and effectively with other team members, and Community Networks

  • A clean and full NZ driver licence and a clean police record
  • Have NZ Permanent Visa or Citizenship
  • May be required to consent and undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
