Support Worker

We have a great work opportunity for a capable individual who enjoys helping others to join our energetic and friendly team as a full-time Support Worker. You will be working 40 hours a week (including one weekend shift) at our Adult Residential Service located on a six-acre park-like site in New Windsor (West Auckland).

Please note that while this role will primarily be based at our Adult Service, it may also involve work within our Family Centre, which is on the same site. The days and times of work are:

Sunday 10.00am – 6.00pm

Monday 7.45am - 3.45pm

Tuesdays 10.00am – 6.00pm

Wednesdays 2.15pm – 10.15pm

Thursdays 2.15pm – 10.15pm

We are seeking a candidate who ideally has:

  • 1+ years’ practical experience working in a social services, addictions or mental health care setting (as a Support Worker or a similar role)
  • A sense of humour and strong people skills
  • An interest in Māori tikanga and Pacific customs and culture
  • A full NZ driver’s license
  • Completed or is willing to work towards a level 4 Certificate in Health and Care (with organisational support)

In return we offer:

  • A salary between $55,494 and $63,814 depending on qualifications and experience
  • A $2500 annual allowance for working evening/weekend shifts
  • Paid meal breaks, free meals and fruit
  • 22 days annual leave and 5 days paid study leave per annum
