Support Worker

  • Full-time position, working Monday – Friday

We’re looking for a Support worker to join our team. You will ensure the efficient and effective use of resources for the team while fostering innovation and improvement in order to ensure our service offering is the best it can be.

This is a full-time role working Monday - Friday, 8am – 4:30pm, in Manukau Auckland.

You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Auckland team, supporting people with experience of mental health to live well in the community, provide support to people to achieve their goals towards independence. You will provide regular coaching and be focused on inspiring every member of your team to exceed their personal best in everything they do.

We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and work in a recovery focused way, you will have impeccable attention to detail, good people skills, common sense and the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals. You might already have experience and qualifications in other areas, we will utilize them all. You may be someone who practices a whanau centered approach, that includes physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions and is based on whakapapa, whanau, whanaungatanga to strengthen and support healthy life choices. You will have the ability to advocate people’s needs and right to make decisions about all aspects of their lives, within a clinical, community and whanau environment.

  • You must hold a current full driver’s licence
  • Hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. or are currently studying towards this qualification or a recognised equivalent?
  • You will have good computer and administration skills
  • Experience with medication support

The Covid-19 Public Health (Vaccination) Order requires the full vaccination of anyone conducting high-risk work in the health and disability sector, or who does not necessarily provide a health service but works in a role that requires frequent contact/engagement with those who do. Therefore all workers within the Wise Group are required by the Order to be vaccinated.
