We’re passionate about supporting people with experience of mental illness or addictions – we’ve been dedicated to it for more than 30 years.

This is a permanent, full-time position, 40 hours a week, working Tuesday to Saturday, 7am - 3.30pm.
You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Auckland Community based service supporting people with experience of mental health to live well in the community, provide support to people to achieve their goals towards independence. While you will have some regular tasks that you do each day, no two days will ever be the same! You might be kept busy supporting people with budgeting and independent daily living skills or attending appointments and advocating for people. Or you might be assisting people to connect with their communities. You’ll need to be prepared to do whatever it takes - cleaning, cooking, gardening, personal care or helping out with everyday household tasks. The work may be in people’s homes or supporting them to access services and make connections in the community.
You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways Coles Cresent team, working in a team of Support Workers – all with a common purpose to support people experiencing mental distress.
We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and work in a recovery focused way, you will be able to provide medication support for our people and have impeccable attention to detail. You might already have experience and qualifications in other areas, we will utilize them all.
- You must hold a current full driver’s licence
- Hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
- Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate Level 4 in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. Alternatively, you will commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for Support Workers to complete this study
- You’ll enjoy being part of the team and be excellent in building relationships
- You’ll be flexible and have positive approach when dealing with challenging behaviours
- Experience within Mental Health and Addictions sector preferred.
