About the service:
The mental health and addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking a significant programme of change to deliver better outcomes for tāngata whai ora and whānau in our region. Nga iwi Ngakaunui - people at the heart of all that we do. We recognise and value strong relationships with tangata whaiora, their whānau and with the communities we serve. As a community based service we are committed to delivering services closer to home in the communities and in partnership with other community stakeholders.
About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic leader with the ability and energy to lead two highly specialised teams - the Specialist Eating Disorder Service and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy team. This position is currently sited at He Toa Takitini (193 London St). The community mental health model of service delivery is undergoing transformational change as we seek opportunities to think and deliver service differently with a focus on equity, improving accessibility and outcomes for maori and their whanau. This is an area where there is significant opportunity for us to think outside the square and be prepared to shape change and deliver services differently.
Required skills & experience:
• Has a passion for and experience working in the mental health and addictions sector
• Leadership and management skills and a commitment to developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
• Self-management capabilities. Self-motivated and highly organised
• The ability to embrace and lead change whilst ensuring business as usual service delivery is not unduly affected
• A focus on continuous quality improvement and person centred practice
• Works effectively within a team with a service and systems awareness.
• Commitment to ensure Treaty of Waitangi principles are meaningfully embedded within service delivery.
Flexibility and adaptability and ability to work in a complex and changing environment.
