Inspire and lead the LinkPeople Tenancy team and be a supportive leader in the LinkPeople working environment.
LinkPeople works with the most vulnerable members of our communities to provide access to safe, affordable housing and link them to the health and social services they need for independent living. We’re working together with a number of key organisations as part of a community-wide approach to end homelessness. We are looking for a team leader who can lead a team focused on supporting the transition of people into the community with permanent housing and supports and provide experienced leadership in Tenancy Management.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You’ll be covering Bay of Plenty area from our Rotorua office.
This is a people-focused role where your approachability, responsiveness and genuinely caring personality will shine. You’ll work in partnership with other agencies, including our partner organisations in the health, housing and social services space, to develop supportive peer relationships and collaborative service delivery. Our dedicated team will thrive under your leadership, as you harness their talents to provide practical support around managing houses and tenancies, accessing entitlements, setting up a house and budgeting as well as managing our rental database and landlord responsibilities.

You’ll seek opportunities to engage staff through effective coaching and ongoing development while creating a team culture where achievements are celebrated, and fun occurs spontaneously.
We’re looking for an exceptional people leader with a relevant experience in mental health, property management and leadership or similar preferred. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and a full New Zealand driver’s license is also essential.
The selection criteria for this role will include:
- New Zealand Certificate in Residential Property Management (Level 4) or a recognised and
- relevant equivalent qualification. Alternatively, you will be prepared to study towards this
- Certificate (or a LinkPeople-nominated equivalent), starting within six months and completing
- within two years of commencing employment with LinkPeople (LinkPeople offers significant
- support to complete this study)
- Previous leadership or management experience
- Established relationships and connections
- Knowledge of the homeless/housing sector
- Knowledge of the mental health and addiction sector
The Covid-19 Public Health (Vaccination) Order requires the full vaccination of anyone conducting high-risk work in the health and disability sector, or who does not necessarily provide a health service but works in a role that requires frequent contact/engagement with those who do. Therefore all workers within the Wise Group are required by the Order to be vaccinated.
