Youth Justice Health Professional

Infant Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service - Kensington Centre (ICAMHS)

Permanent, part-time, 28 hours per week, negotiable working days

Open to Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker with mental health experience to join our ICAMHS team.

Join our innovative and forward thinking ICAMHS team who were amongst New Zealand’s first Mental Health Services in utilising the strengths recovery model of case management to enhance client recovery.

You will work as part of our multi-disciplinary team in supporting 12 - 19 year olds currently involved within the Justice setting from an Alcohol, Drug and/or Mental Health perspective. This will involve close liaison with CYFS, Police, Education and Health services.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Comprehensive assessment skills for Children and Adolescents
  • A head for risk management and future planning
  • Sound Intervention skills reflective of evidence based practice
  • Exceptional documentation skills
  • Effective communication ability, able to build good rapport with young people
  • Case management experience
  • A team spirit, who can think on their feet, take active participation in problem solving, leadership and professional development
  • An understanding of the ‘Strengths Model’ as a framework of care and the client/family led collaborative approach to recovery.
  • A Current driver's licence (Essential)
