Te Whare Huapai is a transitional home for young people that are transitioning into adulthood. Our purpose and our why is centred around holistically supporting our taiohi to becoming more independent in their lives and their choices.
Successful applicants will be supporting young people to gain independent living skills so that the transition to adulthood is more successful. Youth work experience is an advantage.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
This role is permanent, part-time position, working Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am-6:30pm.
Apply your skills, creative ideas, and expertise to work collaboratively with team members and other agencies to get the best outcomes for our taiohi me nga whānau. Supporting taiohi in a residential setting, you’ll help to develop life skills and resilience and provide support with practical problem solving.
You | Mōu
- Applicants must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent, or be studying towards one.
- Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
- A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Māori and Pasifika are strongly encouraged to apply for this role. We also encourage people with lived experience to apply.
