KPI Programme

The New Zealand Mental Health and Addictions KPI Programme is a provider-led initiative, designed to bring about quality and performance improvement across the mental health and addictions sector.

The New Zealand Mental Health and Addictions Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Programme is a mental health and addiction sector owned and led initiative, designed to support quality and improvement across the sector through collaboration, improvement and learning.

Together we are driven by a vision to drive demonstrable improvement in tāngata whai ora outcomes through ready access to and use of comparative services performance information.

Currently, the Programme provides opportunities for Adult and Child and Youth mental health and addiction services from New Zealand’s DHBs and their nominated NGO partners to benchmark themselves against their peers.

As the dedicated Programme hosts, Te Pou works to promote the sharing of information, ideas and learning to accelerate service improvements and to support provider governance, national coordination and the formation of peer groupings based on issues of mutual interest and benefit.

The Programme is governed by the mental health and addiction KPI Programme Sponsor group. Sponsors include senior DHB, NGO and tāngata whai ora representatives at both a clinical and managerial level.
