PRIMHD projects

The PRIMHD working group is leading ten projects relating to collection processes. Broadly, each project fits into one of three overarching themes:

  1. Technical and data
  2. Workforce capability
  3. Business processes

Technical and data:

These projects look at improving systems to make it possible to collect the right information

TD1 – PRIMHD access and reporting

Improve access to PRIMHD and resolve outstanding PRIMHD reporting issues.
Project lead: Kendra Telfer

TD2 – Continuous improvement to maintenance register and PRIMHD online

Review all items on the maintenance register and prioritise resolution for those of high priority.
Project lead: Hilary Sharp

TD3 – Data quality monitoring

Establish a data quality monitoring process to measure and report on the effect of implementation of the new initiatives/projects delivered under the PRIMHD working group framework.
Project lead: Hilary Sharp

Workforce capability

Te Pou leads two initiatives designed to influence the broader sector and workforce, ultimately improving the quality of the PRIMHD data being collected.

WC 4 – National consistency of codes

This project will improve consistency in the collection and use of codes nationally, and create resources to support the workforce to better capture and record accurate activity information. There is a particular focus on codes with demonstrated inconsistent use.
Project lead: Ali Bower

WC 5 – National workforce information and utility framework

This project will develop a resource and provide recommendations for a framework for nationally consistent training in the collection and use of PRIMHD information. It is anticipated that the more the workforce understands what they are collecting, and why it is of value, the better the quality of information being recorded. This project requires working together with the NGO sector.
Project lead: Cara Thomas

Business process

These projects look at making collection processes clearer - collecting the right data, in the right way, about the right things.

BP6 – COPMIA and whānau

Identifying a process for collecting and reporting COPMIA information
Project lead: Ros Coulter

BP7 – Consult liaison

Identifying whether consult liaison activity fits with PRIMHD.
Project lead: Barry Welsh

BP8 – Social outcome indicators

Defining the requirements to facilitate the collection and reporting of social outcome indicator data.
Project lead: Barry Welsh

BP9 – Mental health act and legal status
