Suicide prevention research programme - a summary of results and implications

Publication date: 1 November 2012

The Suicide Prevention Research Fund was managed by Te Pou between 2008 and 2012. The fund was established by the Ministry of Health in 2007 to help address gaps in New Zealand research on suicide and self-harm, and inform ongoing development of the Ministry's 2006 Suicide Prevention Strategy and the related Action Plan (2007).

The following 11 projects in this report, on the causes, correlations and nature of suicidal behaviours, and the implementation and effectiveness of suicide prevention interventions, were completed. Details of authors, methods, key findings and recommendations can be found in the appendix to this report.
