Treaty of Waitangi Workshops in Disability Services

Our training package is targeted at community groups and service providers to educate, inform and bring about awareness and understanding around Treaty of Waitangi issues and disabled Maori (whānau hauā) We teach clients that all disabled have rights under the Treaty as its a human rights document giving us all citizenship, we teach what those rights are. 

The content covers a range of topics including the Treaty of Waitangi, implications on provider groups and communities, putting theory into practice and looking at other legislative requirements and conventions such as the UNCRPD, the HRC and HDC and how they are relevant. 

At the end of the workshop participants will receive a resource booklet and a certificate of attendance. Workshops are also tailored to meet the individual need of the organisation and the individual need of the client. We can do a one day workshop or break it up into two separate sessions. 

Approximate cost

$15-25 per person if for a large group of 20 or more persons
$500-$1500 per organisation dependent on community or government entity plus mileage and accommodation if needed (these costs are all negotiable)
