| Caro has worked in the mental health sector for more than 20 years in lived experience roles, including consumer advisory, auditing, governance, peer support, project management, training, facilitation, consultancy, evaluation, resource development, advocacy, writing, supervision and mentoring, quality improvement and workforce development. In this work she has been able to use her living experience of mental health challenges in ways that support better services and outcomes for people. 'I love the work I get to do and be part of at Te Pou.To get better outcomes for people who experience mental health and addiction issues we need to ensure a diverse, skilled and effective workforce has what they need to be the best they can be. I work to provide and facilitate lived experience leadership across all our work. I am especially proud though to be part of a sector that brings about development and growth in the consumer, peer support and lived experience workforce using our own values, networks, philosophies and history.
