Cindy Sharon is a registered Health Psychologist who has extensive experience working with people in a variety of medical settings. She originally trained as a comprehensive nurse and spent several years working as a Practice Nurse, so she has a longstanding interest in primary care. She has attended multiple ACT and fACT trainings with ACT leaders in New Zealand and the USA.
Cindy recognised the potential that the IPMHA programme had to significantly transform the New Zealand primary health sector for the benefit of patients and staff and started work as a HIP at Mangere Health Centre in early 2019. Cindy became a HIP trainer in 2019 and in 2020 became the Implementation Lead for the Auckland Wellbeing Collaborative. She later joined Te Whatu Ora as an Implementation Consultant, assisting with implementation support around the country. Cindy brings a wide range of clinical, leadership and training skills to her role and is committed to providing a strengths-based and collaborative approach to training and mentoring people coming into HIP roles. In addition to her training and implementation roles, she continues to work clinically as a health psychologist in private practice.
