Name:
Edith Moore
Edith Moore (MSc, Health Psychology) is of Cook Island Māori, Tahitian, and English descent. She began her career in lived experience advocacy after entering recovery in 2015, following three decades of alcohol and drug harm. Seeing living proof that recovery was possible sparked her journey, and she has since committed to being a visible face of recovery—bringing hope to others facing challenges.
Her first sector role was as Network Coordinator with DRIVE Consumer Direction Counties Manukau. She later led both DRIVE and its flagship initiative, Recovery College NZ, where she developed workshops and shaped programming—work she continues today.
In 2018, Edith co-founded the Drua Pasifika Consumer and Family Lived Experience of Addiction Network, which became Drua Va Manuia and later part of 3Village1Island—a collective of three Pacific lived experience villages: Mana Pasefika (Disabilities), Tangata Moana Nui (Mental Health), and Drua Va Manuia (Addictions). Her work keeps these initiatives grounded in lived experience and cultural relevance, offering pathways for others to connect, learn, and lead.
