Kerry Weir-Smith (she/her)

Project Lead

I began with Te Pou in June 2022 as part of the practice team. My role will involve engaging and working alongside a wide range of stakeholders particularly around supporting people to reduce the use of restrictive practices in mental health and addiction settings. I do a lot of talking , dreaming , holding hope, building relationships and ultimately contributing to support the workforce with resources that underpin least restrictive practice. The best part is that I do this all with an incredibly knowledgeable and generous bunch of colleagues and stakeholders.

I am a highly skilled, compassionate and enthusiastic Allied Health professional (Occupational Therapist) with 20 plus years’ experience in mental health and addictions and most recently a focus on quality improvement space.

I value human connection, diversity and equity and feel that many of the values held by Te Pou fit well with my own.
