Maria Carmela Basabas

Research Assistant

My role as a research assistant is to provide support to research and evaluation work across Te Pou's various mental health, addiction, and disability projects.

I obtained a Master of Science in Social Psychology from the University of Auckland and previously worked in academic research. I am passionate about utilising the power that evidence-based research has in improving the mental health and lives of New Zealanders.

With Te Pou's people-centred approach to research and workforce development, I am excited to support research that really matters.
