I started at Te Pou in May 2024 as a contractor but started my current role in August 2024. I work across a couple of projects at Te Pou within the practice team: The first is Equally Well, a collective impact movement of people and organisations taking action to address the unmet physical health needs of people with lived experience of mental health and addiction issues. I co-ordinate the backbone team meetings and actions for Equally Well across the country. I also support the Least Restrictive Practice team on their projects.
My previous work experience includes working in a publishing house and at Parliament. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Media Studies from the University of Auckland, Graduate Diploma in Publishing (Applied) from Whitireia New Zealand.
Auckland is my home, but I’ve spent a few years across Tauranga, Napier, and Wellington. I am new to the mental health and addiction workforce, but both have been causes close to my heart for a long time. I value the importance of physical health equity and good care, which aligns with the Equally Well movement. With a background in publishing, I’m interested in accessibility in publications and how language is used.
