  • Position:

    Trainer candidate

Hi, my name is Nirala Lencse. I am a health improvement practitioner living in the beautiful Hibiscus coast. I am an occupational therapist born, bred and trained in South Africa. I have been in New Zealand for 15 years and have enjoyed integrating in into the beautiful lifestyle and culture of Aotearoa.

I currently work in an extremely busy practice in Manly, Whangaparaoa that services around 12 000 patients. I have been in a variety of occupational therapy sectors for the past 21 years, and this has transitioned well into my HIP role, of which I have become a huge advocate, and champion for. I have seen the immense difference the HIP service brings to the primary health sector, and the influence it has made in enhancing and improving people’s wellbeing. This has led me down the trainer pathway in contributing, enriching, and growing this wonderful service in GP practices. It has been so empowering being able to train and work amongst a supportive community of HIPs, and assimilating a variety of skills and experience in the process.

I have a supportive husband working in mental health, 2 children and enjoy every aspect of family life as well as prioritising my own wellbeing which includes health, exercise and nutrition, dance, being a social butterfly and attempting to be a MasterChef in my own kitchen. I look forward to continuing this HIP trainer journey in inspiring, supporting and motivating other HIPs in this rewarding and fulfilling profession.
