Programme Manager Mental Health First Aid

I am excited to be apart of the Te Pou team, as the Programme Manager for Mental Health First Aid Aotearoa New Zealand. This programme is known to increase mental health literacy, decrease stigmatizing attitudes and encourage early help-seeking behaviours for those experiencing or supporting someone with a mental health problem. Mental Health First Aid can be found in over 23 countries, and I look forward to being a part of the adaptation and implementation of the next version here within Aotearoa.

My background is in nursing, and I have recently completed a Master in Professional Practice. Prior to joining the Te Pou team, I have been working as an academic staff member at Waikato Institute of Technology within the undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing team. During this time, I become a MHFA facilitator and programme coordinator for Wintec. Over the last four years, I have taught over 40 MHFA workshops and have been humbled by the testimonies from participants who share that this course has impacted them positively both personally and professionally.
