I began my career as a Speech and Language Therapist in Rotorua, where influenced by the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā I learned that successful outcomes are rooted in listening to understand an individual needs and holistic whānau-centred services.

My transition into health management was driven by a strong commitment to equitable, integrated health and social services. This shift provided opportunities to contribute to system-level change and the design of whānau-centred services and models of care that support better health outcomes for tāngata whai ora, whānau, and communities. Over the years, I’ve held executive and senior leadership roles across primary care, mental health, workforce development, and health promotion.

I joined Te Pou in October 2023 as the IPMHA training, quality and development lead. My role supports the development of the IPMHA workforce through the delivery of high-quality training that is consistent, culturally responsive, and grounded in adult learning principles. This work is closely aligned with the Keeping it Real | Kia Pono te Tika framework, which outlines the values, knowledge, and skills essential for working effectively with tāngata whai ora and whānau experiencing mental health and addiction needs.

In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, travelling, music, reading, keeping active and long walks with our dog.
