We’d like to warmly invite you to attend the National Addiction Research Symposium on Friday, 4 September 2026. It is jointly organised by researchers at the University of Auckland, Victoria University of Wellington, AUT, Massey University and Otago University, and supported by Te Pou. Researchers and people working in the areas of substance use, alcohol, nicotine, other substances, gambling and other behavioural addictions, treatment, policy and prevention are welcome.
The objectives of the Addiction Research Symposium are to:
- provide a forum for addiction/gambling, alcohol and other drug (AOD) researchers in Aotearoa to meet and share their work;
- provide an opportunity for research students (PhD, Masters) to present in a welcoming space with supportive colleagues;
- allow for focused discussions on issues of common interest to addiction/AOD researchers, including potential collaborations.
Registrations to attend close on Friday, 31 July 2026.
It is free to attend, but places are limited.
