Mental health and addiction screening and assessment 6 May

Screening and assessment are a vital starting point for people and whānau-centred approaches in providing support. An updated Mental Health and Addiction Screening and Assessment resource to reflect the current screening tools used in Aotearoa New Zealand.

There will be four half-day online workshops available in May and June 2026 to support the release of the updated resource.

Learners will be equipped to:

• use the updated resource
• understand why screening and assessment are important
• be confident utilising screening and assessment in practice where necessary
• contribute to improved practice for kaimahi working with tāngata whai ora in various settings.

The dates for the online workshops are 6 May, 18 May, 12 June, and 26 June, with a start time of 9am.
