Youth Mental Health First Aid Aotearoa workshop with Julia Grace

Join us for an in-person event where you'll learn valuable skills to support people experiencing mental health challenges. Gain confidence in recognizing and responding to common mental health conditions. This course is perfect for anyone wanting to make a positive impact on the well-being of others. Who is this course for?

  • Adults (18+) who want to learn how to recognise warning signs of mental distress in our rangatahi, and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support them whilst keeping yourself safe.

This course trains you as a Youth Mental Health First Aider. You will learn how to:

  • Understand the mental health challenges young people experience.
  • Source options for treatments and provide helpful first aid strategies.
  • Be confident to offer MHFA, enabling early access to help.
  • Apply the ALGEE - the five step action plan.

The workshop will be delivered over two days on Monday 31 March 9:00am to 4:30pm and Tuesday 1 April 9:00am to 4:30pm. The workshop will be delivered by a qualified Youth MHFA instructor. Our current Instructor for this is award winning professional speaker, Julia Grace.

On completion of the two days, participants are issued access to an online portal to where they can complete a short quiz and download their personalised accreditation certificate (valid for 3 years).
