Expression of Interest for the refresh of CPSLE Values
Help shape the future of the Consumer, Peer Support, and Lived Experience (CPSLE) workforce
The Lived Experience team at Te Pou warmly invite expressions of interest from the CPSLE workforce who are passionate about strengthening and supporting the lived experience workforce within mental health and addiction services across Aotearoa.
In 2025–2026, we are refreshing the CPSLE values that underpin the Competencies for the mental health and addiction consumer, peer support and lived experience workforce to ensure they continue to reflect CPSLE principles, cultural responsiveness, and the rich diversity of lived experience across our workforce. This values refresh will guide how the competencies are shaped and applied, ensuring they remain relevant, meaningful, and grounded in real-world experience.
The lived experience workforce brings unique insight, connection, and hope to the CPSLE workforce. Clear, values-based competencies help support our workforce to thrive, and ensure services are shaped by those with lived experience at every level. If you believe in the power of lived experience to transform systems and support whānau, we welcome your involvement.
Document review process
This project will begin with a one-day, in-person hui in October 2025. The hui will provide space to connect, share, and explore the refreshed values, with a strong focus on lived experience. Due to budget constraints, spaces for the hui will be limited. Following the hui, contributors will continue engaging through a shared Word document using tracked changes to offer reflections and feedback. Our team will review and incorporate all input across multiple rounds. This collaborative process ensures diverse voices are heard. The final version of the competencies will be completed by 30 March 2026.
