About The Salvation Army Midland Bridge Centre
The Salvation Army Midland Bridge Centre exists to provide safe, integrated, high quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidenced based best practice and are known for being people-centered, caring, transformative and responsive.
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Caseworker/Social Worker for our residential service based in Hamilton.
Key responsibilities:
- Provision of casework that provides integrated care for those experiencing co-existing problems of addiction and mental health
- Group facilitation
- Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge programme model of treatment
- Implementation of The Salvation Army Bridge programme policies and procedures
Person specification:
- Tertiary alcohol and drug qualification or qualification in a closely related field such as social work, psychology, nursing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Good cross-cultural understanding
- Professional registration with DAPAANZ, The Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB), HPCA
- Commitment to continuing professional development relevant to addiction studies
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining privacy, and confidentiality
- Experience in group facilitation and case management in the alcohol and drug field
- An awareness of the requirements of the treaty of Waitangi and be willing to work from a bi-cultural perspective experience in carrying clinical workloads
- Ability to work with people from other diverse backgrounds and cultures

Hours of work: This is a permanent, full-time role of 40 hours per week, however part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.
The starting salary for this role will fall between $68,000 and $102,000 per annum. This role is covered by the pay equity agreement and the final remuneration will be dependent on the years experience of the preferred candidate brings to the role.
