Bridge Support Worker

The Salvation Army Bridge Centres exists to provide safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. The Salvation Army Bridge Programme currently has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Residential Support worker. This role is for nighttime awake shift starting at Midnight (00:00am) and finishing at 08:00 am Monday to Friday.

The applicant should have experience in support work in an addiction or mental health setting and/or hold or be willing to undertake the National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work Level 4.

The ability to work in a culturally appropriate and safe manner with Maori and Pacific peoples is essential as is a full / clean driver's license.

What will your responsibilities be:

• To provide a supportive and safe environment for clients within residential housing.
• Uphold The Salvation Army's Mission and Christian ethos.
• Value and respect the individuality, dignity and privacy of each client of the Bridge Programme.
• Preserve confidentiality of clients' personal information.
• Maintain good communication with clients, family/whanau, and other team members.
• Committed to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi as they apply to The Salvation Army Bridge Programme.
• Clients receive care without discrimination on the basis of race, culture, health, sexual orientation or age.

Hours of work: Permanent 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

The starting salary for this role will fall between $28.95 and $29.60 per hour as per the Care and Support Workers Pay Equity
