Join Pathways as a Casual Support Worker and help people with mental illness to live their dreams. Make a real difference every day – and every night!

Pathways | Mō mātou

As a leading mental health and addiction service in Aotearoa, we empower individuals to live full lives in their communities. Prioritising mental health while aiming for overall well-being, we foster strong whānau connections. Our commitment to personalised support is reflected in our 'whatever it takes' wairua and spirit.

Join our Pathways Team as a Casual Support Worker and help people experiencing mental distress to build confidence, develop daily living skills, and connect with their communities. Every day is different, and you’ll see the positive impact of your support first-hand.

Based in Blenheim, as a Casual Support Worker, you’ll have flexibility to be able to pick up a variety of shifts — including days, evenings, weekends, and awake nights (a meal is provided for awake night shifts). Your day (or night!) might involve helping someone with cooking, budgeting, or gardening, supporting them to appointments, or encouraging community connection. Whatever it takes, you’ll be there with empathy, encouragement, and a smile.

Why you’ll love working with us:

  • Meal provided for awake night shifts
  • A wide range of discounts through our employee discounts app
  • Discount at Specsavers for you and your whānau (family) members
  • EAP support services

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is reliable, flexible, and understands recovery-focused support
  • Genuinely enjoys helping others thrive
  • Has experience in community, mental health, or addiction support work
  • You might hold a level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or an equivalent qualification
  • Has a full driver’s licence and current first aid certificate (or happy to get one)
  • Is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and excellent record-keeping

If you’re looking for flexible, meaningful work where you can make a difference every day — we’d love to hear from you!
