The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We are seeking a skilled Youth Worker for our OTIS youth team in Waikanae. Specialising in complex needs & mental health support, caring for 1-2 young individuals in a nurturing home.
Responsibilities may include:
- Working closely with clinical service staff in designing personalised support plans
- You will work with people’s strengths, hold hope and encourage people to recognise their ability to overcome adversity.
- You will work with people planning a suite of activities and programmes individually designed to help them meet goals
- As a Casual Youth Worker you will be covering a range of shifts as needed when permanent staff are not able to work. These are non-regular hours, and you'll also need to be prepared to work across our other Pathways adult services as required throughout the week, including all Wellington locations.
We currently have a high need to fill these shifts:
Awake night shift: 11.00pm -7.30am
AM Shift: 7.00am - 3.30am
PM Shift: 3.00pm -11.30pm
About You | Mōu
You will:
- Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be studying towards a recognised equivalent.
- A full driver’s licence.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori, including Te Reo Māori and Tikanga, or be open to learning about it.
