Clinical Team Leader

Location: Counties Manukau (Manurewa)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and values‑driven Clinical Team Leader to join an innovative, collaborative AOD service.

About the Service

The Salvation Army Bridge and Ember work in a strong partnership to deliver a unique AOD respite and short‑term treatment service.

  • The Salvation Army Bridge is an internationally acclaimed service supporting people with drug and alcohol dependencies to achieve recovery and improved quality of life.
  • Ember is a leading NGO providing values‑based mental health and AOD peer support services.

The service operates from a residential facility in Manurewa, employing both clinical and peer support staff who work collaboratively to support:

  • Respite guests, and
  • Individuals transitioning into longer‑term AOD treatment.

Planned service developments are currently under discussion with funders, including a shift to a regional service model and the introduction of more formal social detox spaces.

The Role

This is a hands‑on clinical leadership role providing oversight and support to all staff, while maintaining a strong client‑facing focus.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Clinical leadership and staff oversight
  • Clinical assessments and risk assessments
  • Case management
  • Group facilitation and 1:1 support
  • Liaison with AOD treatment providers and wider community organisations
  • Supporting clients using the Bridge’s Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) model
  • Contributing to a collaborative model that integrates clinical care, peer support, and group work

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with full professional registration (e.g. Nursing Council, SWRB, NZAC, DAPAANZ)
  • Minimum 2 years’ clinical management experience (AOD experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in AOD services
  • Strong clinical risk assessment skills
  • Experience facilitating groups
  • Ability to work confidently within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to working from a bicultural perspective and willingness to learn Te Reo Māori
  • Ability to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Current NZ work visa, residency, or citizenship

This role is permanent and hours worked will be 40 per week - 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The starting salary for this role will fall between $104,321 and $122,464, per annum, based on experience.
