Moo te Tuuranga | About the Role:
We are looking for Registered Nurses with experience or an interest in Mental Health to join our team. With the increased level of need for community-based support for people experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues, we are undertaking further investment to add to our existing workforce. Additional nursing resource is sought for our adult | pakeke, children and young people | tamariki me rangatahi and first episode psychosis early intervention teams.
Outstanding communication skills, as well as a supportive, respectful, and conscientious manner are required for these roles. With an understanding of the challenges faced by people with lived experience, the successful candidate will ideally be able to:
- Provide care and treatment in accordance with both organisational and professional competencies and standards and endeavour to involve whanau/families/support persons as appropriate.
- Respond to crisis and routine specialty mental health needs as required.
- Accept responsibility for the provision of safe quality mental health care, which meets the standards of the professional, ethical and relevant legislated requirements.
- Demonstrate proficiency and autonomy of practise in the clinical setting providing care to people with a range of secondary level mental health and addiction needs.
- Demonstrate responsibility, accountability and commitment in acute mental health care and the wider health context.
- Utilise clinical knowledge and skills through reflective practice and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice, integrating mental health, addiction and physical health frameworks.
- Demonstrate culturally responsive practise.

- Previous experience or interest in mental health
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Experience working independently, assuming accountability and responsibility for your actions, making critical decisions in challenging and complex situations
- Clean Full New Zealand Driver Licence
