The opportunity:
Are you passionate about supporting and strengthening whaanau, and committed to advancing equity for Maaori in mental health and addiction services? We have a rewarding opportunity for a registered Social Worker who is grounded in both clinical and cultural practice.
In this role, you will provide high-quality, holistic care to tangata whaiora, their whaanau, and the wider community. You will draw on your strong cultural knowledge, clinical expertise, and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to support equitable outcomes and uphold the mana of those you serve.
You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of comprehensive social work services that are culturally safe and responsive. Your work will focus on improving health equity and achieving better outcomes for Maaori experiencing health disparities. This mahi is grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and aligns with national mental health standards, social work best practice, and organisational policy.
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong networks within the Maaori community, experience working with complex Maaori whaanau, and a deep understanding of Maaori models of health and Maaori mental health. You will also be confident in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and providing education that supports whaanau wellbeing.

Essential:
- NZ registered Social Worker with current APC
- At least 1-2 year experience working as a Registered Social Worker in Mental Health & Addictions
- Excellent communication skills in Te Reo Maaori and English in both oral and written form
- Strong knowledge of tikanga Maaori
- Confident use of IT systems
- Full, clean NZ drivers licence
