About us

The Early Psychosis Intervention Team (EPI) is a youth-focused, assertive outreach, community mental health team. We work intensively with young people and their families to provide a variety of age-appropriate interventions from the acute phase of psychosis through to recovery.

About the role

We are seeking an occupational therapist with experience in mental health who would like to join a dedicated and supportive team working with young people recovering from psychosis.

We are an assertive outreach, community-based multidisciplinary team working with young people and their families, providing interventions from the acute phase of psychosis through to recovery.

You will provide OT assessments and interventions to a limited number of service users.

There will be an opportunity to take part in therapeutic group work.

About you

Essential skills and experience:

  • Professional registration in New Zealand
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
  • A desire to work with children, youth, and their families who have complex mental health issues
  • Skills in crisis intervention and recovery planning

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience in using various media and tools to engage and sustain treatment with children, young people, and their families
  • A postgraduate qualification in child and youth mental health and/or recognised training in an evidence-based intervention for child and youth mental health presentations
