About the Business:

The Salvation Army Midland Bridge Services exists to provide safe, integrated, high-quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use. Our services are evidence-based best practise and are known for being people-centered, caring, transformative, and responsive.

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Registered Nurse for our residential program based in Hamilton.

About the Role:

We are seeking the full-time services of an exceptional Registered Nurse who will use their considerable experience to help us to provide client-centered services within a team of Health Professionals. The Salvation Army Bridge: Midland provides high-quality residential services for people whose lives have been affected by the harmful use of alcohol and other drugs.

What will your responsibilities be:

  • Provision of nursing care for individuals experiencing difficulties in relation to their recovery from substance dependence and those with co-existing addiction and mental health problems.
  • Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge Programme Model of Treatment.
  • Implementation of The Salvation Army Bridge Program Policies and Procedures.
  • Model of treatment, policies, and procedures.
  • Cultural Safety.
  • Health Care and Needs of Clients.
  • Medication Management.
  • Infection Control.
  • Health Education.
  • Documentation.
  • External Relationships.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Registration with the Nursing Council of NZ with a current annual practicing certificate.
  • Sound assessment and risk management skills.
  • Experience providing health-based education groups is desirable.
  • A good understanding of addiction and coexisting problems.
  • The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • The ability to work within a team environment as well as being able to work independently.
  • An awareness of the Treaty of Waitangi and a willingness to work from a bicultural perspective.
  • Empathy with the mission of the Salvation Army.

This role is permanent and hours worked will be 40 per week.

The starting salary for this role will fall between $83,000 and $97,000

The starting hourly rate for this role will fall between $39.00 and $46.00
