Registered Social Worker/Other Qualified Health Professional. (Open to mature graduates).
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of elders?
We are looking for an experienced registered social worker or other qualified health professional in a relevant discipline, to join our Te Waka Haumaru, Older Persons Team to support older people to live in their community with safety and independence, free from abuse, and with meaningful lives. You will join a dedicated and professional staff in an organisation with a reputation for being a leading-edge provider of social services. The position is available in our Hutt site.
You will bring experience and understanding to the following:
- Working in a Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsive organisation
- Supporting older people with cognitive impairment and other long-term conditions to live safely and well in the community
- Understanding of family harm and the impact of mental health and addiction issues on whānau and older people
- Working to end instances of elder harm
- Understanding of trauma informed practice
- Working within a multi-disciplinary health environment
You will have the following:
- A social work or other health qualification, and relevant registration
- Outstanding relationship management and networking skills
- A can-do attitude, and able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
- A full New Zealand driver's licence
- Competency in use of computers
