Support Worker - Behavioural Support

  • Full time positions, 65+ hours per fortnight
  • Must have flexible availability to work a variety of rostered shifts; mornings, evenings, overnight sleepovers, and every second weekend.
  • $23.84-$29.10 per hour depending on relevant qualifications

We're looking for strong, resilient Support Workers, who've got the heart and strength to step up and support with complex behavioural needs.

As a Support Worker, you’ll walk alongside someone, helping them stay safe, manage emotions, and live a good life. This is hands-on, meaningful mahi, where your strength, patience, and presence really matter.

This role is about showing up, keeping calm when things are tough, and being someone others can rely on - he pou, he tangata. You won’t be on your own; you’ll be fully trained and supported by a solid team that has your back.

If you’ve got a calm head, a strong body, and a good heart, this could be a great opportunity for you to make a real difference.

Ngā mahi | What you’ll be doing

  • Building independence – Supporting people to learn everyday skills like cooking, budgeting, and using public transport
  • Supporting daily routines – Helping with personal care and medication
  • Backing goals and passions – Encouraging people to pursue interests, culture, and hobbies
  • Supporting complex behaviours: Providing calm, consistent support, always with dignity, safety, and respect - kia mau te mana o te tangata
  • Strengthening whānau and community connections – Supporting people to stay connected to their people, culture, whakapapa, and community
  • Promoting health and wellbeing – Supporting positive choices for physical, mental, and emotional health - hauora
