The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

We're seeking a new team member for a full time position to work in our acute mental health crisis respite service, working alongside the crisis assessment and treatment team. This facility is located in a beautiful villa in Nelson and offers 24-hour care. We support individuals experiencing mental health distress that prevents them from staying in their home environment and you will play a vital role in providing short-term crisis respite support.

The shift is Sunday and Monday nights from 11pm to 7:30am in Nelson. A meal is provided for overnight awake staff.

You’ll also

  • Focusing on the individuals needs and providing culturally safe practice
  • Relevant administrative tasks, comprehensive notes and effective handover, and supporting and collaborating with your colleagues
  • You’ll need to be prepared to support our clients to do whatever it takes using a recovery model
  • Whilst the whai ora you support are sleeping you will complete tasks such as cleaning and maintaining things like filing, first aid kits, emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.

About You | Mōu

For this role, you must hold a Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or an equivalent qualification. You should also have the ability to provide medication support with meticulous attention to detail. Additionally, you’ll align with our commitment to a recovery-focused approach.
