Youth Addictions and Mental Health Clinician

We're excited to let you know that there is an opening on our Youth Intact team for a Youth Addictions and Mental Health Clinician. You'll be based at our welcoming community hub right in the heart of Hamilton, with weekly travel throughout our Waikato service area to keep things interesting.

We're looking for someone who’s a registered AOD practitioner, social worker, nurse, or a health professional with HPCA/NCAC Counsellor status. You'll also need to have a Level 7 or higher qualification in a relevant social services field.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering youth-friendly, evidence-based AOD assessments and treatment – all guided by the Waikato Youth AOD Model of Care
  • Teaming up with Youth Workers, Cultural Support, and other awesome providers to help young people on their recovery journey
  • Playing a key role in our Youth INtact leadership service – sharing your knowledge and helping grow AOD and CEP skills across the wider community, including primary health and youth mental health sectors
  • Getting involved in shaping and improving our service – your voice matters here!

What’s in it for you?

  • A salary between $69,076 and $79,393 (based on your skills and experience)
  • A pool car to use for work – and even to get to and from home
  • 22 days of annual leave to recharge
  • 5 paid study leave days every year to help you grow and keep learning

Youth INtact is a new approach to service delivery for rangatahi/young people with problematic to severe alcohol and/or other drug use – offering easily accessible community-based assessment and treatment services that are wraparound, holistic and culturally responsive. There are a mixture of school clinics and community-based services, depending on the community needs.
