Equitable Access to Wellbeing framework PDF

This is the PDF version of the Equitable Access to Wellbeing framework. It was designed to use on a computer.

The Equitable Access to Wellbeing framework is a knowledge and skills framework for mental health, addiction, and disability workforces working in primary, secondary, and tertiary contexts. It aims to strengthen the workforce to provide better support and improve outcomes for disabled people experiencing mental distress and their whānau.

There are longstanding concerns in Aotearoa New Zealand regarding access to effective treatment and support for autistic people and people with learning
disability who also experience mental distress and addiction. The Equitable Access to Wellbeing framework has been developed in response to these concerns.

The framework is primarily to support the disability and mental health and addiction workforces. It sets out values, knowledge and skills needed by the health and disability workforces to support health and wellbeing for autistic people and people with learning disability and who experience mental distress and addiction, all of which may or may not be formally diagnosed.

The framework has been developed collaboratively by people with lived experience and workforce stakeholders.

The Equitable Access to Wellbeing framework is available in several different formats that ensure that the framework is accessible to all.
