The KPI Programme has launched a refreshed website, built with the workforce in mind.
The new site makes it easier for kaimahi working in mental health and addiction (MHA) services across Aotearoa New Zealand to access six key indicator dashboards used to measure system wellbeing.
Explore the new MHA KPI Programme website.
Two decades of sector-led mahi
Since 2004, the KPI Programme has grown in response to the needs of the MHA sector - connecting kaimahi, supporting informed decision-making, and keeping the focus on improving outcomes for tāngata whai ora, whānau and communities.
The new website is a vital tool in continuing that work, encouraging the MHA workforce to use information to drive continuous improvement.
What’s new
- User feedback showed that people primarily come to the site to access the six “indicator” dashboards, so these are now front and centre on the home page.
- There's also better access to resources and events directly from within the dashboards, and an expanded FAQ section for those newer to the programme.
What hasn’t changed
The six national indicators - seclusion, wait times, 7-day follow up, continuity of care, whānau engagement, and 28-day readmission - remain the heart of the programme, drawing on data from PRIMHD (Programme for the Integration of Mental Health Data), the national dataset for mental health and addiction.
The KPI Programme team's commitment to the sector is unchanged. The focus remains on helping kaimahi understand the story behind the numbers, and on creating space for reflection, connection, and sharing of exemplary practice.
That includes Benchmarking Breakouts - wānanga-style online sessions where kaimahi can connect, ask questions, and explore how others are using the indicators to improve service delivery - and Benchmarking Forums, in person hui where the workforce from across Aotearoa comes together to learn, share, and collaborate.
New to the KPI Programme?
Create a log-in and begin exploring the dashboards and resources at your own pace. The expanded FAQ section is particularly useful for getting oriented.
People who are already registered will not need to re-register, and bookmarks or favourited links should still work.
To stay up to date with insights, events, and resources from the KPI Programme team, subscribe to The Indicator, the KPI Programme's e-newsletter, via the website.
