Revised framework launches, focusing on Te Tiriti o Waitangi, diversity and equity

On 2 April, Te Pou unveiled a refreshed framework for Let's get real, which included a new name and logo.

Now known as Keeping it Real | Kia Pono te Tika, it better reflects our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, diversity and equity, and contemporary best practice.

The revised framework was developed with the feedback and guidance of many people and organisations across the health sector, including Māori and lived experience leaders.

Many of them were present or spoke at the in-person launch event, and we are grateful for their support.

Values, attitudes, knowledge, and skills showcased in new video

The framework remains focused on the values, attitudes, knowledge, and skills essential for working effectively alongside tāngata whai ora and whānau experiencing addiction and/or mental health challenges.

The story behind the new logo

The new logo was inspired by the harakeke (flax) plant and the koru frond - symbols of strength and continuous growth in te ao Māori.

Like the interconnected leaves of harakeke, the framework weaves collaboration and holistic wellbeing together.

The unfurling koru, nestled within the protective environment of harakeke, represents the ongoing journey of learning, development and resilience.

Together, these symbols reflect a holistic approach to health, emphasising the nurturing of relationships, the importance of collective growth, and the unity that sustains us all.
