Carla White (Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Toa) is from Health Literacy NZ and is the lead facilitator and project manager for the training programme. Carla works with organisations and health professionals to improve service delivery.
Carla has provided health literacy training for teams in hospital settings, primary care and community organisations. Her training focus has been on assisting services to achieve equity outcomes in health, helping the health workforce identify and understand the perspectives of their clients and communities, and using this as a starting point for building health literacy.
