| I believe it is vital for services to use all available information to support people’s recovery. My current role as clinical lead focuses on supporting services to meet this challenge. What better way to meet the needs of the community by knowing the people you serve. Know the people planning (KPP) is a great way to help services achieve this and be clear about their purpose. Link KPP with outcomes information and you have an incredibly rich and powerful data source. Frame all this up with outstanding skills, values and attitudes and you are well on the way to meeting people’s needs and recovery aspirations. I am a qualified social worker and have many years' experience in various mental health settings, both in New Zealand and overseas. I am particularly interested in the social context and social consequences of mental health issues for people, and how models of social inclusion and social change can be incorporated into the recovery pathway. |
